To complete the slightly long focal length there is a bright f / 2 design that helps maintain a portable form factor, also contributing to performance in low light conditions and control of the depth of field. Optically, this 65mm F / 2 includes a pair of aspherical elements and a low dispersion element in its design to control a variety of aberrations and gain significant sharpness and clarity. A super multilayer coating has also been applied, which reduces reflexes and ghost images for a greater contrast.

Thanks to handling, this goal is equipped with a stepper motor for rapid and silent AF performance that adapt both to photographic and video applications. Also as the target of the I series, this lens incorporates a manual opening ring and a barrel constriction entirely in metal in its design for greater tattility. Furthermore, there is a nine-bladed diaphragm rounded for a quality of uniform bokeh and the lens housing is also watertight to adapt to work under adverse conditions.
