A classic wide-angle goal updated for the LEICA L-Mount Full Frame mirrorless systems, the 35mm f / 1.4 DG DN of Sigma is a first of the ART series characterized by an advanced and updated optical design, an elegant profile and a bright design. The maximum opening f / 1.4 allows you to work in low light conditions and also provides greater control over the depth of field to obtain reduced field depth effects. The optical layout incorporates two SLD Special-Low dispersion elements, an extra-low dispersion ELD and a FLD Low dispersion element. It also incorporates two aspherical elements and elements with high refractive index to obtain a considerable degree of clarity and sharpness with distortion and well-controlled aberrations. Furthermore, a super multilayer coating improves the quality of the image by suppressing the lens reflexes and ghost images to improve the contrast and fidelity of colors in conditions of strong lighting.

Optic balance is a refined external design, which has a physical opening ring, which can be de-clicked or locked, along with a dedicated focus mode switch and the AFL button for an intuitive and tactile control. For the autofocus, a step-by-step motor is used which maintains a light and compact design, promoting fast and almost silent focusing performance for both photos and video applications. Furthermore, the lens is equipped with a 11-sided rounded diaphragm for a uniform bokeh quality and the lens housing is also weather resistant to adapt to work under adverse conditions.

As part of the Art line within the Global Vision series in Sigma, this goal is designed to achieve truly remarkable optical performance and is ideal for creative and artistic applications.

The wide-angle lens is designed for LEICA L-size mirrorless cameras, but can also be used with the APS-C models in which it provides an equivalent focal length of 52.5 mm.

The maximum light opening f / 1.4 is particularly suitable for working in available light conditions and provides extended control over the depth of field to isolate the subject with selective focus.

Lens construction: 15 elements in 11 groups, including a low dispersion element FLD, an extra-low dispersion element ELD, two special low-sld dispersion elements and two aspherical elements.

A super multilayer coating was applied to the objective elements to minimize the ghost reflexes and images of the objective and help produce images rich in contrast and neutral color, even in backlight conditions. The resistant coating allows you to easily remove oil and water from the front surface of the lens and prevents oil and grease from sticking for easy cleaning.

The integrated stepper motor makes a rapid and silent internal automatic focus, further integrated with an optimized AF algorithm to produce more fluid focusing performance. Detection of faces and eyes supported in functions enabled.

The manual opening ring can be de-clicked for a switching of fluid and silent opening for the benefit of video applications. Furthermore, it is also possible to use a dedicated diaphragm ring lock switch to prevent accidental displacement of the diaphragm setting.

The embedded automatic focus lock button (AFL) to which additional functions can be assigned expands the range of operations available on the lens.

The diaphragm at eleven rounded slats contributes to a uniform and pleasant bokeh quality.
