FP L BODY

A high resolution update of the original FP, SIGMA FP L is a compact and modular mirrorless camera with a new 61 MP Full Frame sensor, improved automatic focusing performance and a set of versatile function suitable for both photographic applications and Film cinematographic.

Identical in the first FP form and maintaining compatibility with accessories, the FP L is small enough to disappear in a rig for film uses or to act as highly portable option for travel photography. The improved sensor and focus greatly benefit the use of photography, while maintaining the same extraordinary video recording capabilities for a professional cinematographic workflow.

The new 61 MP BSI Full Frame CMOS sensor fits to high resolution photo shooting and video recording up to UHD 4K with 12-bit RAW output during external recording. The BSI sensor design reaches a low noise and offers a range of sensitivity up to ISO 25600 to work in low light conditions. The sensor design now also includes phase detection autofocus on chips, which greatly improves the speed and accuracy of focus, especially when they pursue moving subjects.

In addition to sensor updates, the FP L also introduces the possibility of receiving continuous power via USB-C to benefit from prolonged recording times, such as when taking time-lapse, extended clips or when using the camera as a webcam. The elegant and minimal design of the camera body incorporates a 3.15 "and 2.1 m rear LCD touchscreen of points and the FP L is also compatible with the EVF-11 electronic viewfinder; an optional auxiliary EVF for a Light monitoring at eye level. A slot for saving internal files and FP L also supports registration directly on hard drives connected via USB-C, for the benefit of recording not processed videos and other large file recording applications.

CMOS Sensor BSI Full Frame from 61 MP

The distinctive feature of FP L is the 61 MP high resolution 61 MP CMOS sensor with an array of colored bayer style filters. The increase in resolution greatly benefits photographic applications based on fine details and even video recording by improving sharpness through downsampling. The BSI design helps to obtain accurate colors, soft tones and reduced noise when working in difficult lighting conditions. The sensitivity range from ISO 100-25600 adapts to work in a variety of lighting conditions and the dual-base ISO configuration further guarantees clean results.

• Despite the use of a more conventional Bayer Array Bayer sensor, Sigma has used its work experience with Foveon sensors to inform your decision to include a low-pass filter in the sensor design to help suppress moiré for an accurate color rendering.
• The very high resolution enables the crop zoom function, available for photos and video recordings, which allows you to cut out the image up to 5x to simulate the job with a higher focal length.
• The electronic shutter design helps to reach the dimensions of the compact camera and reduces the number of moving mechanical parts. This design translates into silent and vibration shots with a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000 second, however it offers only a maximum flash synchronization speed of 1/15 second.
• The 14-bit raw tablets without loss are saved as DNG file for post-production flexibility.
• The continuous shooting on full resolution is supported up to 10 fps.
• Various aspect reports, ranging from standard 3: 2 to the most exclusive reports 21: 9, 7: 6 and 2: 1, can be used in the camera to help preview different output reports.

Hybrid automatic focusing system

In addition to the higher resolution, the updated sensor also incorporates the support of the phase detection autofocus to enable an intelligent hybrid AF system. Using both focusing methods for contrast detection and phase detection, FP L has significantly improved focusing and accuracy in various lighting conditions and can also follow moving subjects more efficiently. This focus system is accurate up to -5 EV and has 42 selectable points that can be changed via the touchscreen interface.

Video UHD 4K, 12-bit RAW output

Keeping the same impressive video performance of the original FP, the FP L is still a strong competitor for cinematographic use thanks to its versatility in the recording methods and to the raw registration output. Offering UHD 4K up to 30p and FHD 1080 up to 120p internally or DCI 4K 24P output if you register externally, the FP L can record 8-bit CinemaDng files on an SD card or emit 12-bit Cinemadng On USB-C or 12- a bit raw on HDMI.

• The camera body has an internal stereo microphone, suitable for scratch audio recording, and a 3.5 mm microphone door to work with an external microphone. If you work with the EVF-11 electronic viewfinder, this accessory incorporates a 3.5 mm headphone door for audio monitoring.
• Making the FP L a unique tool for directors working with other cameras in production environments, the camera can be used with the director viewer mode to simulate the shooting field, the driving guide and the visual field of other film cameras. This feature has been updated with the FP L with a wider camera compatibility and now includes Arri Arricam, Arriflex, Alexa LF, Alexa Mini LF, Alexa SXT, Alexa Mini, Amira, Alexa65, Alexa XT; Sony Venice; and Red Monstro 8K, Helium 8K, Dragon 6k, Epic MX 5K, Gemini 5K and Komodo 6k.
• For adjustment in the color and tone camera, the color modes can be applied and adjust directly to the footage. Two new color modes have been added with FP L: Powder Blue and duotone.
• Electronic image stabilization helps reduce camera vibrations when recording videos.
• Camera movement control is compatible with some Gimbal models.
• The FP L can be used as a webcam by simply connecting the camera to a computer via USB-C to send video and audio signals to the computer.
• Integrated Cinemagraph function for the production of unique hybrid images that blend video movement with a fixed image.
• Support for the acquisition of fixed images during live display and movie shooting in Cine mode, as well as the possibility of extracting still images from Films of movies CinemaDng and Mov.

Modular camera design

One of the main features of the FP cameras series is the compact and minimal design that contributes to its modular philosophy. Designed intentionally without handle, without sight and even without hot contact sled, the FP L can be built using accessories to adapt to a variety of specific production needs.

• Compatible with accessory handles, myrini, plates and a hot shoe unit to create a camera shape factor suitable for a variety of uses provided. The simple rectangular shape of the camera body also promotes easier compatibility with third-party cages and other rigging accessories.
• Used together with other members of the L-Mount Alliance, the lens connection L is a versatile interface with a diameter of the 51.6 mm attack and a 20 mm flange distance to work with a wide range of optics.
• The type C USB port supports continuous power supply and battery charging inside the camera, via a Power Bank accessory for extended shooting times, time-lapse recording or other cases where a longer battery life is required.
• The BP-51 lithium ion battery included provides approximately 240 shots per charge.
• Even the 3.5 mm HDMI Type-D and microphone ports are integrated into body design.
• LCD integrated by 3.15 "and 2.1 m of points has a touchscreen design for intuitive management.
• Compatible with the optional EVF-11 electronic viewfinder, which connects to the left side of the camera body, for monitoring at eye level.
