Many photographers photograph with low sensitivity to get images with minimal graininess. In particular in the shooting of the starry sky, luminous wide-angle lenses are preferred for the ability to also capture weak barrums of light. The 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN | Art is the latest shout in bright wide-angle zoom, particularly suitable for photographing starry skies with full size mirrorless. The uniform yield and the exceptional resolution on the whole frame make it "the indisputable target for astrophotography". Thanks to the characteristics of short draft graft, this large new generation brightness zoom offers both a reduced size body and high resolution images.
Product identification code: The objective acronym includes the letters DG when it is built to provide maximum performance if used with cameras equipped with a full size sensor (full frame). The letters DN identifies the short draw targets.

Main features

1. New target from great performance for full size mirrorless
Mirrorless are increasingly present on the market and grows the expectation of goals able to make the most of their high quality. Many photographers could believe that they cannot choose performing targets and various focal lengths for mirrorless, other than the original ones.
This would oblige them to have more systems in their kit. SIGMA It proposes this new set of targets for Mirrorless Full Frame as the optimal solution to these needs.
SIGMA It will propose interchangeable objectives with unprecedented specifications and performance for modern mirrorless short draft, while maintaining the characteristics of the "Contemporary", "Art" and "Sport" series. We announce the first three new objectives of these series.
(1) 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary
Very compact is built to maintain high quality image and compatibility with mirrorless cameras. Fixed focal length, improves the constructive concept of the Contemporary line.
(2) 35mm F1.2 DG DN / Art
The first goal in the world * 35mm F1.2 L-Mount and Sony and -Mount for the full size mirrorless system. High image quality of the Art line is also maintained at the maximum opening of F1.2.

Ultra-angle zoom lens for mirrorless cameras. While maintaining high image quality of the Art line, its size has been reduced thanks to the exclusive design for mirrorless cameras.

2. High resolution of the image offered by the lens has been reached thanks to elements in low dispersion optical glass and to the NPC (Nano Porous Coating) treatment of lenses.
An element in FLD optical glass and five glass SLD have been used to minimize chromatic aberration even at the edges of the image. Three aspherical lenses, including a large diameter aspherical lens, in the front, are used to reduce chromatic aberration, flare etc., thus obtaining an incredible resolution. Super multilayer lens treatment is combined with a new NPC named treatment (Nano Porous Coating) *. The optical target scheme has also been studied so as to be little influenced by light sharply accident, such as the backlight.
* The special technology SIGMA For lens coating, named "NPC (Nano Porous Coating), it uses porous silicon. This silicon layer contains nano bubbles full of air. Since these bubbles contribute to significantly reducing the refractive index, the coating decreases the best reflection of the anti-reflex layers of conventional materials. The result is a drastic reduction of flare and ghost images in favor of a clearer and more defined image.

3. Functions that help the photographer even in difficult shooting conditions
The focus stepper motor guarantees a quiet and fast AF. Easy is the focus also in video shooting, for example with facial recognition function. The AFL button can also be customized to carry out different functions, thus increasing the operational possibilities of the objective. Furthermore, the tropicalization of the lens and the water and grease coating of the front lens, facilitates operation in any situation

4. Rear housing for filters, standard accessory
The objective is supplied as standard with a rear holder with a fall-fall lock for fixing rear jelly filters for shooting the starry sky.
