Nanlite presented the new FC PowerController, a combination of power supply, V-Mount charger and control unit for the Nanlite FC series lights. The device allows you to upload V-Mount batteries and to act simultaneously from wired controllers and from power source for compatible lights, such as the new FC-500C, FC-300B and FC-500B lights of nanlite.
The FC PowerController (BT-BCS-48V3.5mm) measures 130.6 × 135.5 × 204.5mm and weighs 1,61kg. It is equipped with a quick release plate on the back, which allows mounting on a lighting stand using an optional quick release clamp. It can also be easily hanged using the integrated rope. The FC PowerController housing is made of aluminum alloy and has three heat sinks in aluminum alloy and an integrated silent fan.
Mobile power loader and source via V-Mount batteries
The FC PowerController can work as a double mobile charger with V connection, loading one or two 14.4-14.8 V or 26 V batteries simultaneously when connected to the alternating current via the included power adapter. The batteries with charged V connection allow FC PowerController to feed the FC-300B / 500B / 500C lights of Nanlite & moving.
The maximum power of each lamp varies depending on the number and voltage of the V-Mount batteries used. For example, to operate the FC-500C with full power, two high-performance V-Lock batteries are required from 26V. The use of a single 14.4 V battery on the same lamp limits 30% power.
If a AC power source is available, the lights can also be powered without problems from the mains: in the absence of current, they can easily switch to battery operation.
Control
The FC PowerController offers cable control for FC-300B / 500B / 500C lights at a maximum distance of 3 meters, using the 2 "display and the two dials and the two buttons for setting the parameters. This allows you to operate the Lights even when they are mounted in inaccessible positions.
