The 40.5 mm filter diameter of the external thread is compatible with the 16-50 mm POWER ZOOM ZOOM lens for cameras with e-grafting.

The MC (multilayer) filter in high quality optical glass protects the outer part of the lens from dust, scratches and fingerprints.

The Carl Zeiss® T coating minimizes the reflection between the filter and the lens, to reduce reflex effects, parasitic light and ghost images.

The filter is often just 5.5 mm, to avoid unpleasant effects of saturation or lower brightness at the ends of the image.
