This Viltrox Autofocus Speedbooster EF-EOS M2 adapter allows you to mount a Canon EF full frame lens on a Canon M camera.
In doing this, the adapter optics helps maximize the apparent field angle of the connected lens, at the same time providing an increase of a stop for the camera on the lens opening range.
If a 35 mm film-intended lens or full-frame cameras sensors similar is connected to a Canon camera with M connection, it will project a larger image than the camera's APS-C sensor has been designed to accept. Able to capture only the central part of the projected image, the actual field angle of the lens would be reduced, creating a "crop factor" in the camera.
This adapter condenses the light from a lens designed for 35 mm films or "Full Frame" camera sensors and projects it to the APS-C sensor of a Canon M camera. This allows the APS-C sensor to use more light collection from a connected lens, which effectively reduces the clipping factor making the sensor available to the additional light stop for each of the lens f / stop settings.
If a compatible lens includes the Autofocus and the camera-controlled opening functions, this adapter allows you to use these functions.
Furthermore, if a mounted target is able to generate EXIF metadata when used with a directly compatible camera, this adapter is designed to allow saving such information together with the image files generated with a lens combination, a Canon M camera and the Adapter.
